Sweet tamales with raisins are made in many states of the country, especially for children's parties and inns, they are almost always pink, with its soft and spongy texture. Enjoy them warm and accompanied by a cup of atole of flavor that you like the most. You can serve them with cajeta and coconut or eat them alone.

The tamale is a food of Mesoamerican origin very popular among Mexicans and among the wide range of flavors that exist, this tamale of sweet with raisins is the most famous. Ingredients

12 portions
  • 12 corn leaves, (totomoxtle)
  • 4 cups Water, hot
  • 1 1/4 cups lard
  • 3/4 cups sugar
  • 2 cups cornmeal, nixtamalized
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup Water, approximately
  • 1/4 teaspoons vegetal color additive, pink
  • 3 tablespoons raisin
  • to taste cajeta - Mexican carmelized goat milk sweet
  • to taste walnut, chopped
  • to taste grated coconut

Preparation

Soak tamale leaves in hot water for 10 minutes, drain and reserve.
In a blender, beat the butter until it changes color, add sugar, flour, baking powder and water little by little.
Beat for 10 minutes until you get a spongy and homogeneous dough, add the coloring and whisk for 2 minutes.
On a sheet of tamale place two tablespoons of dough, add raisins and wrap.
Place the tamales in a steamer with water and cook for 1 hour over medium heat or until the dough does not stick to the leaf.
Serves warm, accompanied by cajeta, nuts and coconut.

PRESENTATION

On a clay plate accompanied by a cup of atole.

TIPS

You can substitute lard for shortening.

Lo traté de hacer exactamente como lo dice la receta pero es demasiada manteca, tuve que corregirla agregando más de los otros ingredientes
