Preparation
Preheat the oven to 190 degrees.
Grease a round cake mold and flour.
Mix the flour with the sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
Gradually add the butter, egg, milk, and vanilla until you see a smooth and incorporated mixture.
Put the mixture in the round mold greased and bake for 25 minutes or until an inserted stick comes out clean.
Allow to cool for 10 minutes on a rack and unmold.
Select the best strawberries (for the top part) and reserve.
Chop the rest of the strawberries and put in a bowl together with 1 tablespoon of normal sugar.
Beat the cream with the icing sugar and vanilla until peaks form. Refrigerate until it is going to be used.
Slice the cake horizontally, creating two layers of cake.
Put the juices of the chopped strawberries on the two halves.
Take half of the whipped cream and incorporate with the chopped strawberries.
Put a layer of cake on a platter and cover with the cream with chopped strawberries.
Place the other layer of cake on top and cover with the rest of the whipped cream.
Garnish with reserved strawberries and serve.
