Ingredients: 1 baguette, or rye bread; 1 package cream cheese, at room temperature; 12 figs, clean and cut into thick slices; 12 slices serrano ham, thin; fresh cilantro, or parsley for garnish

Cut 12 slices of the baguette. Place them on a baking sheet, let them toast for 10 minutes or until they look golden. Allow to cool on a rack. Place the cream cheese in a bowl and mash with a fork until it is smooth and spreadable.
