This version of mixiote has all the flavor of the sauce with the San Marcos® chilies and spices. This mixiote is healthy, practical to prepare, and full of flavor.

Ingredients

4 portions
  • 4 tilapia fillets
  • 3 pieces San Marcos® chipotle peppers
  • 4 pieces Pasilla San Marcos® chili peppers
  • 3 pieces Ancho chiles San Marcos®
  • 4 pieces Guajillo chiles San Marcos®
  • 3 pieces San Marcos® arbol chiles
  • vegetable oil
  • 5 green tomatoes
  • 1/4 onions
  • 1 garlic
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 2 leaves bay
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • 3 allspice berries
  • 3 cups orange juice
  • banana leaf, roast
  • avocado leaves
  • nopal, in plasters
  • salt
  • pepper
  • tortilla, To accompany

Preparation

With the help of scissors, clean the toothpick, the seeds and the veins of the San Marcos® chipotle peppers, San Marcos pasilla chile®, San Marcos ancho peppers®, San Marcos guajillo peppers®, San Marcos® tree peppers.
Heat a frying pan over medium heat, add a little oil and then fry the chilies that you cleaned, the green tomatoes, the onion and the garlic for 5 minutes; Add the orange juice and cook for 5 more minutes, for a total cooking time of 10 minutes.
Blend the chiles (San Marcos chipotle chili peppers, San Marcos pasilla chili, San Marcos ancho chiles, San Marcos guajillo chiles, San Marcos arbol chiles) with the oregano, cumin, bay leaf and allspice, season With salt.
To assemble the mixiote, place the banana leaf on waxed paper cut into squares; Add an avocado leaf, 2 fish fillets, salt and pepper and add the marinade you made, the nopales and close.
Cook in a steamer for 20 minutes.
Serve and accompany with tortillas.

TIPS

Use waxed paper to cover and have a better cooking, so the sauce from the mixiote will not spill.
