The potatoes are peeled and grated. Once grated, they are squeezed with a kitchen cloth to remove excess liquid and placed in a large bowl. The onion is finely chopped and added to the bowl with the grated potato. Salt and pepper are added to taste. The egg is lightly beaten and added to the potato and onion mixture. Two tablespoons of flour are added and mixed lightly.
