In a large pot, soak the tamale leaves in hot water for 20 minutes. Drain.
For the dough, mix the flour with the chicken broth and the salt. In an electric mixer , add the vegetable shortening and add the flour mixture little by little until a homogeneous mass is obtained.
For the sauce, in a comal roast the tomatoes, the garlic, the onion and the chilies until they are well cooked.
Grind them in the blender with the water and salt pepper.
Form the tamales by spreading a tamale leaf and place two tablespoons of dough, a little chicken and sauce. Close and tie.
In a steamer add water, put it on the stove over high heat until it is hot. Place the tamales taking care not to crush, cover and let cook for 45 to 1 hour, until they are cooked.
