Try this original shrimp pozole with JUANITA'S® Mexican Style Hominy. You´ll have it ready in just 3 easy steps. Perfect for sharing with your family. Don’t forget to place garnishes on the side as cabbage, onion, radish, oregano, lime and chile flakes. Enjoy it very hot.

Ingredients

6 portions
  • 1 tablespoon oil, for the raw sauce
  • 1/4 onions
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 cups Dry shrimp
  • 5 guajillo chilies
  • 3 ancho chili peppers
  • 1/2 cups shrimp broth
  • 1 tablespoon oil, to fry the sauce
  • 3 liters Water
  • 1 teaspoon epazote, dry
  • 2 cups medium shrimp, clean
  • 1 can JUANITA'S® Mexican Style Hominy, (25 ounces)
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper
  • enough cabbage, finely chopped
  • enough radish, sliced
  • enough onion, finely chopped
  • enough Dried oregano
  • enough lemon, in wedges
  • enough chilli powder, To garnish
  • enough fried or toasted corn tortilla, To garnish

Preparation

In a large pot add the vegetable oil, onion, garlic, dried shrimp and peppers, fill with shrimp broth and cook for 15 minutes. Blend and strain.
Heat water in a large pot. Add the sauce and dried epazote, cook for 20 minutes. Then add the fresh shrimp and the JUANITA'S® Mexican Style Hominy and simmer gently for 15 more minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
Serve hot and place garnishes on the side as cabbage, radish, onion, oregano, lime, chile flakes and tostadas.
