Tamale de Cazuela with Chicken and Rajas

Do not miss the exquisite taste of this traditional recipe, with its delicious combination of ingredients, such as chicken, rajas and elotitos, wrapped in tamale dough. Your mouth will water with just smelling it.

Ingredients

  • 2 spoonfuls of oil
  • 1/4 of piece of onion cut in puma
  • 2 pieces of tomato cut without skin and without seed
  • 1 Cup of raja of chile poblano
  • 1/2 Cup of corn cob
  • 1 piece of chicken breast cooked and shucked
  • 2 leaves of laurel
  • to taste of salt and pepper
  • 4 cups of flour for tamales
  • 1 1/2 cups of lard
  • 1 teaspoonful of Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoonful of Rexal® Baking Powder
  • 1/2 Cup of Water

    Preparation

    Preheat the oven to 170 ° C.
    In a pan heat the oil over medium heat, add the onion, tomato and kitchen until it changes color.
    Add the chile poblano slices, corn kernels and chicken breast, season with bay leaves, salt and pepper, cook 10 minutes and reserve.
    In a bowl add the flour for tamale, lard, salt, Rexal® baking powder and add the water little by little, knead until it has a homogeneous and smooth mass.
    On a casserole place half of the dough, add the chicken with slices and cover with the rest of the dough, bake for 40 minutes.
    Serve hot, accompanied by a refreshing drink.

    TIPS

    To know if the tamale dough is ready, put a little in a glass of water, if this fleet means that it is ready.
