Meatballs are a homemade, rich and nutritious dish and with this recipe you can give it a twist, since we prepare them with LALA® Plenia® sausages, which have 100% turkey meat and give it a delicious flavor. These sausage dumplings will delight you!

Ingredients

6 portions
  • 1 package LALA® Plenia® sausages
  • 1 1/2 cups White rice, cooked, for meatballs
  • 1 cup manchego cheese, grated, for meatballs
  • 1/2 cups onion, finely chopped, for meatballs
  • 1/4 cups parsley, finely chopped, for meatballs
  • 1/2 cups ground bread, for the meatballs
  • 1 egg, for the meatballs
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper
  • 5 tomatoes, for the sauce
  • 1/2 cups mashed tomatoes, for the sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, for the sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cumin, for the sauce
  • 1 teaspoon oregano, for the sauce
  • to taste salt, for the sauce
  • to taste black pepper, for the sauce
  • enough vegetal oil, to fry
  • to taste oregano, fresh, to decorate

Preparation

For the meatballs, cut the LALA® Plenia® sausages on a board in medium cubes.
In a bowl, place the rice along with the Manchego cheese, onion, parsley, breadcrumbs, egg and LALA® Plenia® sausages; season with enough salt and pepper and add until you have a manageable pasty mixture. Form balls into your hands and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
For the sauce, grind the tomato with the tomato puree, the marinated chipotle chile, the cumin and the oregano for 3 minutes in the blender. Pour the sauce into a hot saucepan, season with salt and pepper and cook for 10 minutes or until it changes color. Reservation.
In another pan, fry the meatballs until the outer layer is sealed with a little vegetable oil. Drain on absorbent paper.
Serve the meatballs with the sauce and decorate with fresh oregano.

PRESENTATION

Serve the meatballs with sauce and garnish with fresh oregano.

TIPS

If necessary, add a little water to the meatball mixture to obtain the desired texture; cools very well.
