Crispy BBQ Wings

The wings are ideal to share with all your family and friends, they are a delicious snack and not expensive. Prepare these crispy wings covered in a BBQ sauce with a touch of chipotle and whiskey, served with a ranch dressing.

Ingredients

10 portions
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cups ketchup
  • 1/4 cups chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
  • 1/2 cups raw sugar
  • 1/4 cups honey
  • 2 tablespoons old mustard
  • 3 tablespoons worcestershire sauce, or English
  • 1/4 cups apple vinegar
  • 1/4 cups whiskey
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 kilo chicken wing, clean
  • 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/4 cups cornstarch
  • enough oil, to fry
  • to taste vegetable, in sticks like carrot, jicama and cucumber
  • to taste dressing, ranch, to serve

Preparation

For the BBQ sauce, heat a pot over medium heat with the butter, cook the garlic and add the ketchup sauce, the marinade of chipotle peppers, the brown sugar, the honey, the mustard, the Worcestershire sauce, the vinegar, the whiskey, Cayenne pepper, onion powder and cook until thicken. Season with salt and pepper, and set aside.
In a bowl, season the chicken wings with salt and pepper, cover with flour and corn starch, remove the excess and set aside.
Heat a deep pot with the oil, fry the wings until they are well cooked, remove from the pot and place on absorbent paper to remove excess fat.
In a bowl, mix the BBQ sauce with the wings until they are well covered.
Serve the wings with vegetable sticks, ranch dressing and enjoy.

TIPS

You can marinate the chicken wings in milk with paprika, so they are softer and juicier.
