Heat the oil and sauté the onion, add the garlic, and let it cook for a few minutes. Add the tomato, paprika, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper, and let it season. Soak the clams in cold water for a while. Drain them, wash them, and put them back in water. Drain them again and add them to the sauce. Discard any that do not open, let it sit for 5 minutes.
