The nopal salad is a very rich and nutritious salad. The nopal is an important source of fiber, vitamins A, B, B2, chlorophyll and minerals. Accompany this salad with Tostadas Milpa Real.

Ingredients

4 portions
  • 6 nopales, in pieces
  • 1 tomato, seedless cut into cubes
  • 1 onion, chopped into small cubes
  • 1/4 cups fresh coriander, chopped
  • 3 limes, its juice
  • 3 milliliters olive oil
  • 2 pinches salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • Milpa Real® tostada shell

Preparation

Start by boiling the nopales in 8 cups of water with the tablespoon of baking soda for 30 minutes to remove their slime. This step can be repeated one more time if you want to leave them without any slime.
Drain the nopales and clean with cold water.
In a large, deep bowl, mix the nopal, tomato, onion, coriander, lemon juice, olive oil, and salt.
Serve the salad with the Milpa Real tostadas.

PRESENTATION

Decorate the salad with some coriander leaves and serve with Tostadas or Totopos Milpa Real
