The beer-based borracha sauce is a very rich sauce to accompany some fish or barbecue tacos.

Ingredients

5 portions
  • 250 milliliters light beer
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 5 jalapeno Peppers
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • salt, to taste

Preparation

Heat the oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
Brown onion and chilies in the oil for 2 minutes and add the tomatoes. Continue cooking for 5 minutes or until the tomatoes release their juice.
Add the beer and salt and cook for 20 minutes allowing the beer to cook the tomatoes.
Blend the sauce and serve.
