Preparation
In a small pan, add the piloncillo with 5 tablespoons of hot water until it dissolves.
In a large pan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Take the carrots and cut them into cubes of 3-4 cms.
Pour the carrots into the pan with butter and brown for 1 minute.
Add 3-4 cups of water until it covers the carrots and let it boil; then cover the pan and cook the vegetables for about 4 minutes.
Remove the lid and let it continue to boil until the liquid has turned into a syrup.
Add the piloncillo and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Remove the carrots from the fire and they are ready to be served.
