Melt the butter in a pot over medium heat. Add the carrots and onion and cook for about 8 minutes until the onion is soft. Add the chicken broth, cover, and wait for it to boil. Reduce the heat and leave the pot uncovered for about 10 minutes, or until the carrots are tender.
