For poached eggs: if you want your eggs to be just right, insert the thermometer into the water; it should read approximately 80°C.

For homemade bread: one way to know if the bread you are making at home is ready is by inserting the thermometer into the bread; it should read between 82°C and 88°C.

For the base of homemade ice cream: the temperature should range between 80°C and 82°C when you are heating the mixture on the stove before cooling it.

To know the exact temperature of your refrigerator: place the meat thermometer inside any liquid (such as milk). The thermometer should read between 2°C and 4°C; that is the ideal temperature for a refrigerator.

To make caramel: carefully place the thermometer inside the pot, and depending on the temperature, it will be at the soft ball stage (118°C), light caramel (150°C), or dark caramel (160°C).
