Step by Step

Mix 1 teaspoon of bleach per gallon of water, until you have enough water to cover the pumpkin. This way you prevent mold from forming.

Submerge the pumpkin to cover completely and let it soak for 8 hours.

Remove from the liquid and dry with paper towels.

Spray a little of this mixture every 2 days. Do not use petroleum jelly, as it can promote mold growth.
