Tutorial for seasoning all types of pots

How to season pots?

Clay pot 

This type of pot is perfect for preparing all kinds of stews and beans. Don't forget to season it before using it; here’s how. 
  • Soak the pot in water for a day 
  • Put the pot on the fire
  • Cover the inside with vegetable oil 

Enamel pot 

A respectful Mexican has some enamel utensils in their kitchen. If you are one of the lucky ones who has a pot made of this material, don't forget to season it before using it for the first time.  
  • Remove all stickers 
  • Wash it with water and soap 
  • Fill ¾ with water and bring to a boil for half an hour 
  • Remove the water and dry
  • Coat the inside with vegetable oil and heat on low for a couple of minutes
  • Let cool and wash again

Aluminum pot 

Pots and pans made of this material are perfect for grilling chicken, roasting fish, and preparing stews, so learn to season them and use them for many years. According to experts, this is the correct method:
  • Wash and dry the pot 
  • Fill with water 
  • Add one tablespoon of vinegar for every liter of water 
  • Bring the water to a boil for 10 minutes 
  • Remove the water, let it cool, and dry

Cast iron pot

  • Wash with water and soap 
  • Dry very well
  • Coat the pot or pan with oil  
  • Put in the oven and heat for 15 minutes 
  • Let cool and remove
