This delicious traditional dessert recipe to share with your loved ones is ideal for Sunday afternoons.   • 1 cup rice, for rice pudding
  • 1/2 cups whole milk, for rice pudding
  • 1/2 cups evaporated milk, for rice pudding
  • 1 cup condensed milk, for rice pudding
  • 1 cinnamon, for rice pudding
  • 3 cups flour, for empanada dough
  • 2 tablespoons Rexal® Baking Powder, for empanada dough
  • 5 tablespoons sugar, for empanada dough
  • 2 tablespoons butter, for empanada dough
  • 1 egg, for empanada dough
  • 1 tablespoon milk, for empanada dough
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon, for empanada dough
  • enough egg, beaten, to varnish
  • enough refined sugar, to sprinkle
  • enough cinnamon powder, to sprinkle


Preheat the oven to 180 ° C.
For rice pudding, cook rice with water until smooth. Add the milk, cinnamon and cook over medium heat while stirring for 20 minutes, or until the liquid evaporates. Remove the cinnamon and cool completely.
For the dough, in a bowl, mix the flour with the REXAL® baking powder, sugar, butter, egg, milk and cinnamon. Then knead until smooth and smooth. Let stand for 30 minutes in refrigerator.
On a floured surface, spread the dough and using a round cutter 12cm (about 5 inches) in diameter, cut discs.
Add a couple of tablespoons of rice pudding in each dough disk and close the empanadas using a fork. Place them in a baking tray and varnish with egg, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove and cool.
Serve warm.


Serve the empanadas warm


If you want the empanadas to be moist and delicious, don't not dry the rice pudding too much so that during the baking process the liquid doesn't evaporate so much. Remember that you must cool it well before assembling the empanadas.

Les faltó el ingrediente secreto... Agua!!! Después de mezclar los ingredientes se le tiene que poner un poco de agua hasta que se mezclen bien. Mi esposa me salvó la mezcla agregándole un poco de agua y Saz!!!
