You will not have to worry about finding places that sell canapés anymore. With these shrimp croquettes with Habanero sauce you can make your own canapés and they will be delicious. These crunchy snacks are perfect to place in a platter and go past them around as a snack, before your Christmas Dinner. Change the traditional Christmas flavors and cook these croquettes with Habanero sauce, the secret is in making the sauce well and making them very crispy. Ingredients

4 servings
  • 2 cups of cheap shrimp in medium sized pieces
  • 1 piece of potato cooked and in small cubes
  • 1/4 of Cup of Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 teaspoonful of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoonful of onion powder
  • 1 piece of egg
  • 1/3 of Cup of ground bread
  • enough of Salt
  • enough of black pepper
  • 1 Cup of cream cheese in cubes
  • enough of flour to bread
  • enough of egg to bread
  • enough of cornflakes to bread
  • enough of oil to fry
  • 2 pieces of habanero pepper for the sauce
  • 1 clove of garlic for the sauce
  • 1/4 of piece of onion for the sauce
  • 1 Cup of evaporated milk for the sauce
  • 1 Cup of cream cheese for the sauce
  • 1/2 Cup of coriander for the sauce
  • enough of Salt
  • enough of black pepper
  • enough of coriander to decorate

    Preparation

    In a bowl, mix the shrimp with the potato, the Parmesan cheese, the garlic, the onion, the egg, the bread crumbs, salt, and pepper, and form the balls with your hands. Place a cube of cream cheese in the center and finish shaping them.
    Pass the croquettes through flour, egg and corn flakes.
    In a pot with hot oil, fry the coquettes until browned and drain on absorbent paper to remove excess fat.
    For the sauce, roast the chiles, the onion and the garlic in a comal. Blend with evaporated milk, cream cheese and cilantro.
    In a pot cook the sauce for 10 minutes or until thick, season with salt and pepper.
    Serve on a think layer of mirror and place the croquettes. Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves and enjoy.

    PRESENTATION

    Serve in a slightly deep dish, with the sauce and garnish with fresh cilantro.

    TIPS

    Freeze your croquettes before frying so they don't lose their shape.
