This Father's Day we cannot miss the opportunity to celebrate our dads; they who accompanied us in childhood and taught us to ride a bike or to fend for ourselves. That is why we wanted to remember some of the best fathers that have appeared in cinema; thus, we present to you the 10 movie dads.

Life is Beautiful (1997)

We cannot say that this is a movie with a happy ending, but Guido, played by Roberto Benigni, is definitely one of the most legendary fathers in film history. The way he protects his son's innocence during their time in a concentration camp during the Holocaust is a true lesson in life.

The Pursuit of Happyness (2006)

In this feature film, Will Smith plays Chris Gardner, a good man with bad luck who finds himself at the most difficult moment of his life. Through hard work and faith, he raises his son to achieve a better and dignified life. Without a doubt, one of the father-son relationships that has impacted us the most in recent years.

The Empire Strikes Back (1980)

To be honest, not all father-son relationships are loving; sometimes things get complicated, and the famous Darth Vader ends up confessing to Luke Skywalker that he is his biological father. Anyone who has seen Star Wars knows that this family scene is one of the cornerstones of the saga.

Unbreakable (2000)

Every child thinks their father is a superhero, which is why this movie makes the list, as the character played by Bruce Willis truly is a hero. With a message of strength and humility, this film reminds us of the strength of human will.

My Life (1993)

Anyone who hasn’t shed tears watching how Bob Jones (Michael Keaton) leaves a video legacy for his son who will never see him grow up has no heart. This movie is one of the greatest testaments to paternal love and the importance of a father's teachings.

Big Daddy (1999)

From being a carefree con artist, Adam Sandler’s character becomes one of the most iconic dads in cinema. This peculiar father-son relationship is strange, to say the least, but in the end, it leaves us with a sense of complicity, family affection, and admiration.

Mrs. Doubtfire (1993)

What would a father do to stay in the lives of his children? Anything, or at least that is what Robin Williams shows us in this comedy. Disguised as an older woman, and with a special touch, this father, unwilling to resign himself, remains in the lives of his children without them even knowing.

The Lion King

If there is a movie that defines the love between father and son, it is this one. After one of the most tragic scenes in film history, Simba embarks on an emotional journey in which he must find his deceased father to realize that he cannot escape his destiny.

Finding Nemo (2003)

Searching through the 7 seas for your lost son requires great determination, especially with sharks, ocean currents, and hunters involved. In one of the best animated films of recent times, clownfish Marlin embarks on an unparalleled quest to find his son and return home.

John Q (2002)

A father would do anything to take care of his son, even if it involves a major crime. Here, Denzel Washington embodies a desperate father trying to get a heart transplant for his son. As his financial situation is not very good, he will do whatever it takes for his son to survive.
