Ingredients

1 portion
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon liquid vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoons clove
  • 1/4 teaspoons nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 3 tablespoons meringue powder, for the glaze
  • 4 cups powdered sugar, for the glaze
  • 5 tablespoons Water, warm, for the glaze

Preparation

Preheat oven to 160 ° C.
In a deep bowl, beat the butter and sugar with an electric mixer .
Add the egg and vanilla. Sift the flour along with the spices.
Add 1 cup at a time to the mixture, mixing well after each addition. The dough will be very hard.
Add the last of the flour by hand. Stretch the dough. Cut the cookies using the cutters.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until ready. After baking, place the cookies on a rack and cool completely.
For glazing: Make sure all utensils are free of grease. Beat all the ingredients for 7 to 10 minutes. When finished, cover with a damp cloth to prevent drying.
