This recipe is ideal to surprise your family and friends on the day of the candelaria, they are original and delicious tamales filled with hazelnut cream. You will love its spongy texture, and chocolaty flavor.

Ingredients

16 portions
  • 12 corn leaves
  • enough Water, hot
  • 1 1/2 cups butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups cornmeal
  • 1 1/2 cups rice flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 cups Hazelnut cream
  • 1 cup chocolate chip
  • to taste chocolate, cast, to decorate

Preparation

In a bowl, soak the tamale leaves with hot water for around 20 minutes, so that they hydrate and soften. Drain and reserve.
Beat the butter with the sugar in the blender until it is creamy.
Add the cornmeal, rice flour, baking powder, milk, and beat until integrated.
Place 3 tablespoons of dough on the tamal leaf leaving a free centimeter at the ends, and place in the center 1 tablespoon of hazelnut cream, sprinkle with chocolate chips. Close and fold.
Place the tamales in a steamer with hot water and cook for 1 hour or until when the dough is opened it does not stick to the leaf.
Serve warm in a clay dish and decorate with hot melted chocolate.

TIPS

Place a coin in the steamer and if it starts to sound during cooking is that you have no water, you will need to place a little more.
