Try this rich and gritty recipe of the traditional polvorones rolled in sugar. They are smooth and have the perfect texture, and you can add orange zest to give them a special touch. Ideal for tea time.

Ingredients

10 portions
  • 300 grams vegetable shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon liquid vanilla
  • 500 grams flour
  • 1/2 cups sugar, to decorate

Preparation

Preheat oven to 160 ° C.
Acrema the butter with the sugar until it is incorporated. Add the egg and vanilla.
Add the flour little by little and beat until incorporated.
Place the dough on non-stick plastic and form a roll. Freeze about 30 minutes. Cut the polvorones approximately 2 cm thick and sprinkle with sugar. Place in a baking tray.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Chill a little and roll in sugar while still hot.

PRESENTATION

Stir in sugar still hot.
