The torrejas are a typical Spanish dessert, try this special version accompanied by a reduction of red wine and plums, they are very easy to prepare and very rich.

Ingredients

4 servings
  • 1 baguette
  • 1 Cup of milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups of Great Value® Canola Oil
  • 1 Cup of Red wine
  • 5 spoonfuls of Refined sugar Great Value®
  • 1 star anise
  • 1 Cup of plum Boneless and cut in half
  • 2 spoonfuls of Great Value® glass sugar

Preparation

Cut the bread into slices.
Beat the egg with the milk and dip the slices of bread.
Heat the oil in a pan and fry the bread, place on absorbent paper to remove excess fat.
For the plums, heat the red wine with sugar and star anise in a saucepan, cook for 5 minutes.
Add the plums and cook for 5 more minutes or until soft.
Serve the torrejas with the reduction of red wine and plums, decorate with a little sugar glass.
