The classic Cuban picadillo with raisins, olives and capers.

Ingredients

4 portions
  • 500 grams ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/3 cups raisin
  • 1/3 cups olive, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons capers
  • 3 tablespoons tomato puree
  • to taste black pepper, to taste
  • parsley, to decorate
  • rice, To accompany

Preparation

Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and brown for 4-5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
Add the beef and cook for 5 minutes or until it is brown.
Add the beef stock, raisins, olives, capers and tomato puree, mix well and let it boil. Season with salt and pepper.
Lower the heat, cover the pan and cook for 20 minutes. Serves hot

PRESENTATION

Serve the hash on a bed of rice and garnish with fresh parsley.
