This rich pea soup is a mixture of several vegetables with peas and smoked ham.

Ingredients

6 portions
  • 450 grams frozen pea
  • 2 tablespoons vegetal oil
  • 2 turnips, peeled and chopped
  • 2 carrots, peeled and chopped
  • 2 branches celery
  • 1 onion, medium bite
  • 250 grams smoked ham
  • 8 cups Water
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper

Preparation

In a large pot heat the oil over medium heat and brown the turnip, carrots, celery and onion for 10 minutes. Mesh constantly to avoid burning.
Add the peas, ham, water, salt and pepper and continue cooking until it boils.
Lower the heat, cover and allow the soup to cook for 45 minutes.
Pass the soup in batches through the blender and return to the pot. Serve

PRESENTATION

Serve the soup with a spoonful of cream and mint leaves.

TIPS

If you prefer a more rustic soup, it is not necessary to pass it through the blender.
