This rich pea soup is a mixture of several vegetables with peas and smoked ham.

Preparation
In a large pot heat the oil over medium heat and brown the turnip, carrots, celery and onion for 10 minutes. Mesh constantly to avoid burning.
Add the peas, ham, water, salt and pepper and continue cooking until it boils.
Lower the heat, cover and allow the soup to cook for 45 minutes.
Pass the soup in batches through the blender and return to the pot. Serve
