Having fresh food at home is much easier than you think. You don’t need seeds or a specially prepared area; with the same food scraps, you can create your own garden at home. Interested?
Celery
This vegetable grows very easily. Simply cut the base of the celery stalk and immerse it halfway in water. After about 10 days, when the leaves have grown, it should be transplanted into a pot. Remember to remove the leaves from the edges to facilitate the plant's growth.
Avocado
Having an avocado tree is as simple as getting an avocado pit. Clean the seed well and make four holes in it to insert some toothpicks. The idea is to allow it to sit in a glass of water without being completely submerged. After a few days, when the seed germinates, it should be planted in a pot.
Lettuce
The process for growing lettuce is very similar to that of celery. Use the white base of the lettuce and place it in a container with water. Remember not to drown the plant; it should be covered between halfway and three-quarters with water. When the leaves start to emerge, you should transfer it to a pot with soil.
Carrot
Cut the carrot about 2.5 cm from the root and place it in a container with water. Do not completely cover the base; part of it should remain out of the water (otherwise, it may rot). Place the jar in a spot with natural light so that the roots will sprout within a few days.
Pineapple
Although this fruit is a bit more complicated to grow, with this technique, we can assure you that you will at least have beautiful plants easily. Cut the leaves from the pineapple, leaving a bit of the yellow base. Insert the crown of leaves into a glass of water, and once the roots emerge, plant it in a pot.
Basil
Cut stems about 10 cm long and immerse them in water. They need to be exposed to direct sunlight. Wait a couple of days until the roots are about 2 cm long so you can transplant them to a pot.
Now that you know how to create your own garden at home, which fruit or vegetable will you start growing?
