This is not child's play; even though we are older, there are some foods that we simply cannot stand, and this is the list of those that, at least on the continent, are most despised. Here we present the list of the most hated ingredients.   Disliking certain foods as a child is one thing, but maintaining those limits as an adult is another. With that in mind, a survey was conducted to find out which are the most hated ingredients in America. Here is the top 5.  

5.- Blood Sausage

This one is quite obvious; it’s not very common for someone to enjoy eating a sausage whose main component is blood. About 39% of the population refuses to even try this delicacy, which is actually a classic in both English and Spanish cuisine.

4.- Tofu

It’s strange; with an ingredient that has so little flavor, it was surprising to find out that almost 43% of surveyed people want nothing to do with it. In China, they think differently as they use tofu as a blank canvas to carry delicious flavors.

3.- Anchovies

Many people enjoy Caesar salad, and many others enjoy Worcestershire sauce, but most of them forget to remember that anchovies are the key ingredient in each of those recipes. About 45% hate the salty flavor of that little fish that can be such a great seasoning.

2.- Liver

More than 46% join in on this classic childhood hatred. It’s unusual, therefore, that some of the most sought-after dishes in gourmet cuisine are foie gras and other preparations made from duck, goose, or chicken liver. Beef liver, on the other hand, has a much more pronounced iron flavor, and this might be the reason why it is so distrusted.

1.- Oysters

This ocean delicacy is appreciated by few, and almost 47% of the list ranks it as the most hated ingredient. It could be the slimy texture, the sea flavor, or perhaps the fact that some eat them while they are still alive. The point is that this misunderstood ingredient is preferred at a distance by most people.
