Having fresh herbs and vegetables all the time is easier than you think. You just need to grow a few things at home. Here we explain what vegetables and herbs you need to start a home garden.

Basil

This plant requires warm temperatures to germinate, so it is advisable to plant it during spring. Place the soil in the pot and then put the seeds on the surface. Cover with a very light layer of soil and finally moisten it with
a spray bottle. The basil  needs light to grow, so it is best to place it in a sunny spot in your home.

Rosemary

The rosemary can be grown from another plant. All you have to do is choose a young twig with sprouts. Cut about
10 cm of the branch using sharp scissors. Remove the leaves from the last 4-5 cm so that only the branch remains. Place it in a glass of water in a warm spot without direct sunlight. Change the water every third day. Wait about 6 weeks for the branch to grow roots and then transfer the plant to a pot.

Mint

The mint is another plant that can also be grown from the branches of another plant. The process is very similar to that of rosemary. You should cut a twig of about 8 cm, just below the point where the leaves emerge. Place the branches in a glass of water in a well-lit and well-ventilated space. When you see that the roots have grown enough (this usually happens in a couple of weeks), transfer the plant to a pot.

Lettuce

Like herbs, lettuce is a food that can reproduce infinitely (with the necessary care). Cut the lettuce a few centimeters from the heart and then place it in a bowl with very little water. Leave it in a sunny spot and change the water every day. After a few days, sprouts will begin to appear; that is the perfect time to plant it. Wait for it to grow about 15 cm before cutting it again.

Celery

Wash the base of a celery with water and place it in a container with water in a sunny spot. Change the water every third day and use a spray bottle to moisten the plant. After about a week, you should transfer the plant to a pot. Be careful not to cover the new leaves with soil and keep the plant well-watered.

It's that easy; you can start your own garden at home. As you can see, you don't need special tools or a super-equipped place to do it. Just get some seeds, twigs, or vegetable scraps to grow your first plants. Start your garden and let us know how it goes.
