Rich chocolate cake decorated with bitumen. This recipe is excellent to prepare on special occasions like birthdays, since it is the perfect cake to share in company of all. Its spongy bread and delicious chocolate flavor will conquer you.

  • 250 grams butter
  • 250 grams sugar
  • 250 grams flour
  • 6 tablespoons cocoa, Hersheys
  • 3 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 cup milk
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon liquid vanilla
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3/4 bars butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 glass Rum, or milk
  • 1 tablespoon liquid vanilla
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa, sifted


Heat oven to 350ºF. With mixer acremar the 250 gr. of butter, add the 250 gr. of sugar and the 5 yolks one by one until you have a soft paste.
Sift the dry ingredients: 250 gr. flour, 6 tablespoons of cocoa and 3 tablespoons of royal. And add to the butter mixture.
Alternating with the milk cup and the vanilla spoonful. At the end, beat the 5 egg whites to the nougat point and add them to the mixture.
Divide the mixture in 2 greased and floured round molds. Bake for 45 or 60 minutes, until a stick comes out dry.
Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes, then unmold and let cool completely.
For the bitumen: Beat 3/4 of butter stick until acremar, add sifted glass sugar with cocoa, 1 egg, milk or rum and a spoonful of vanilla.
Place a cake on the platter, spread with bitumen and put the other layer of cake. Spread the sides and finally the top part, decorating beautifully.


It is very nice for a birthday. It can be sprinkled with chocolate granillo.


It also stays rich if it is placed between the two layers of cake, strawberry jam.

Queda super bien. Creo que hay que corregir un error en las proporciones: el el betún dice un vaso de leche o ron, debe decir una cucharada.
