If you love to eat seafood in all its presentations, here's how to make Easy Shrimp Empanadas, a Lenten recipe or ideal to satisfy a weekend craving. Ingredients

6 portions
  • 3 cups flour, for the dough
  • 1/4 cups vegetal oil, for the dough
  • 2 tablespoons sugar, for the dough
  • 1/2 tablespoons salt, for the dough
  • 1 cup Water, for the dough
  • 2 cups shrimp, precooked
  • 1 cup tomtato, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cups onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cups fresh coriander, finely chopped
  • enough salt and pepper
  • enough wheat flour, to fry
  • enough vegetal oil, for serving
  • enough mayonnaise, for serving
  • enough ketchup, spicy, for serving
  • enough sauce, in slices, for serving
  • enough avocado, for serving
  • enough lemon, at your service

Preparation

In a bowl, mix flour with sugar, salt, oil, water and knead until a homogeneous mass.
Place the dough in a bowl and let stand for 20 minutes.
For the filling, mix the shrimp with the tomato, onion and cilantro. Season with salt and pepper.
On a floured surface form the dough into balls, extend each to a thickness of 2 mm, add the filling and with your fingers, close forming a braid.
In a small pot over medium heat, heat the oil and fry the empanadas until golden brown. Drain them on absorbent paper.
Open the empanadas with a knife, taking care not to break them open. Serve with mayonnaise, ketchup, hot sauce, avocado and lemon. Serve.

PRESENTATION

Open the empanadas and serve with avocado, mayonnaise, ketchup, hot sauce and lemon.

TIPS

It is important that you let the dough for the empanadas rest enough, so that at the moment of extending it, it does not contract.

La verdad es que las empanadas, tenían un delicioso sabor, a mi familia le encantaron, sólo debo tener mas tiempo para que repose la masa porque se encoge muy rápido.
