Making homemade vegan cheese is the perfect way to complete your recipes of vegan food. This vegan cheese is also very tasty, with touches of cilantro, parsley or the spices of your choice. Give a chance to vegetarian recipes and make your own cheese with natural ingredients.

Ingredients

1 serving
  • 2 cups of Water
  • 1 cup of cashews
  • 8 cups of Water
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons of yeast food or beer yeast
  • 1/4 of cup of olive oil

Preparation

To prepare homemade vegan cheese, first heat a pot over medium heat with two cups of water, cook the cashews for 10 minutes, remove from heat and dip in cold water, set aside.
Blend the nuts with the rest of the water. With cheese cloth, separates the bagasse or residue from cashew milk.
In a bowl, mix the bagasse or residue with lemon juice, yeast and olive oil. Compress in a container, refrigerate for 6 hours and serve.

PRESENTATION

Serve on a board or platter and accompany with crackers and nuts.

TIPS

Aromatize and flavor the cheese adding cilantro, parsley, chili seeds or a mixture of spices of your choice.
