For the meat, in a pot over medium heat, heat water, add the onion, garlic, bay leaf, meat, and necessary salt; cook for 1 hour. Remove from heat and shred. Set aside. Preheat the oven to 200 °C, wrap the sweet potatoes in aluminum foil and bake for 40 minutes. Set aside.
