The first step is to caramelize the onions, this is optional; you can buy them pre-made, but I highly recommend making them at home so your kitchen has a pleasant sugary aroma while you prepare the rest. Fry all the sliced onion in a little butter or olive oil until they are transparent. NOTE: do not burn them. Then, pour in the tablespoons of sugar and a splash of vinegar, stirring for several minutes until you have a thick consistency. Set aside. Again, fry a little garlic in butter or oil along with all the seasonings. Use as much as you prefer but not too much pepper. Mix with the two cans of tuna along with the water from each. Cook for a maximum of 15 minutes.
