Tips

You can make the beef broth one day (or several!) in the same slow cooker. Just add the meat of your choice, salt, pepper, half an onion, one clove of garlic, two bay leaves, and your favorite herbs, and set it on Low for about 10 to 12 hours. The broth will be delicious, and the meat you use will be so tender it will fall apart; you can use it to make crispy tacos, tostadas, tinga, salpicón... || You can make the soup less greasy by straining the fat from the pan when frying the meat. || If your slow cooker is as small as mine, you can remove a third of the soup just before adding the elbow macaroni to cook. It won't affect the flavor at all, and the macaroni will absorb...
