Butter cookies are a delight, as well as easy to prepare. You can make them at home and decorate them with meringue, real glasa or fondant ... ideal for a birthday party, baby shower or any celebration.

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups flour, (350 g)
  • 1 teaspoon liquid vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 100 grams butter
  • 1 cup sugar, (200 g)

Preparation

To start with the preparation of homemade butter cookies take a bowl and mix the butter with sugar. You can do this process by hand with a spatula, you will see how the butter clears, forming a very creamy dough.
The next step is to add the eggs and vanilla. Continue stirring with the spatula until they are fully integrated. If it is very complicated to knead the butter cookies by hand you can use an electric rods, but you should not have problems.
Leave the bowl with the dough on one side and part, hover the flour along with the baking powder. This step is very important because this is what will assure us that no lumps remain and obtain a smooth and homogeneous mass.
Gradually add the flour in the preparation and stir until it is completely integrated. The next step will be to wrap it in transparent paper and keep it in the fridge for about half an hour. The ideal is to form a ball or several small ones.
After this time, you will be able to remove the dough from the fridge. To work, sprinkle some flour on a flat surface and spread it with a roller. Make the cookies of the thickness you want and cut them with the help of a short pastry with the shape that you like or with a glass to make round butter cookies. Go preheating the oven to 180ºC.
Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Butter cookies are made very fast, so you should watch the oven in case they require less time. If your oven has the option, place heat up and down.
When they are ready, take the tray out of the oven. You will notice that the cookies are a bit soft, do not worry because it is normal. The best thing is to let them cool on a rack, you will see as soon as they cool they become crispy. That's right, be careful not to burn yourself, so always use a spatula to get the freshly made cookies out of the tray.

PRESENTATION

With a glass of milk. Decorate to taste.

TIPS

Add more flour if you consider it necessary so that the dough is smooth and compact. You can also use lemon or orange zest if you do not like vanilla.

Muy rica, la hice con 350 gr de harina y 100 de cocos. Para mí es dejarla en el refri or lo menos 45 min para que sea manejable, pero MUY rica. Gracias ❤️
