Rich French recipe for purple and white onions. This popular onion cake is exquisite and will help you to surprise everyone at home or in any event in which you prepare it. Do not hesitate and do it.

Ingredients

4 servings
  • 2 spoonfuls of margarine
  • 2 spoonfuls of extra virgin olive oil
  • 6 spoonfuls of brown sugar
  • 1 piece of red onion
  • 1 piece of White onion
  • 3 spoonfuls of Apple vinager
  • 2 spoonfuls of dry thyme
  • to taste of salt and pepper
  • 250 grams of puff pastry
  • enough of flour

    Preparation

    We preheat oven to 250 ° C.
    Put a pan in the fire, add the margarine, olive oil and sugar, mix. We put the onions cut into quarters, cook over medium heat for 15 minutes or until the onion is golden and caramelized.
    We move and add the vinegar, the thyme, salt and pepper to taste, let it reduce the liquid and remove from the fire.
    On a flat surface place the flour and spread the dough with a rolling pin until you get the size of the greased refractory, for cakes that we are going to use (23cm).
    Pour into our mold the onion preparation that we cooked before and cover the refractory with the dough, cut the leftovers.
    We put in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes and remove when it is cooked and browned. Let stand for 10 minutes.
    Unmold by putting a plate on the mold and turn it over.

    PRESENTATION

    It is eaten hot, as an entry or accompanying a cold foie gras.
