Homemade Tamarind Sauce

This spicy tamarind sauce is perfect to serve with any dish, whether meat or fish its bittersweet touch will be good with everything. You can enjoy it cold or hot, it's a very versatile sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 spoonfuls of olive oil
  • 1 clove of Garlic chopped
  • 1/4 of Cup of purple Onion chopped
  • 2 cups of tamarind pulp
  • 1 piece of marinated chipotle chile
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1 pinch of Salt
  • 1 pinch of Pepper

    Preparation

    Heat the olive oil in a pan, cook the garlic, onion and tamarind pulp and let it boil.
    Lower the heat, add the chipotle chile in marinade and sugar. Cook 5 minutes and cool slightly.
    Blend the sauce until a homogeneous and smooth mixture is obtained. Return to the pot and cook over low heat for 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
    Serve hot or cold.

    PRESENTATION

    Serve in a small bowl or in a sauceboat.

    TIPS

    If the sauce is still hot, liquefy it with the lid of the blender slightly open to avoid accidents.
