Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil; grease the foil. Set aside. Heat the sugar and corn syrup in a large microwave-safe bowl on high for 5 minutes; stir them at 3 minutes. Add the peanuts; stir them. Cook in the microwave for an additional 3 to 5 minutes or until nicely browned. Add the butter and vanilla; stir the butter until it completely melts. Heat the mixture in the microwave for 1 minute. Stir in the baking soda. (The mixture will foam.)
