Preparation
In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the onion and garlic in the oil.
Add the meat and cook well.
Add the tomatoes with their juice and crush the tomatoes in small pieces.
Add the tomato puree, spices and sugar. Stir well.
Let boil for 30 minutes.
In a deep bowl, mix cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese and basil.
Cook the lasagna for 7 minutes in boiling salted water.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees centigrade(356F).
In a glass baking dish (33 x 23 cm) place a layer of pasta, a layer of cottage cheese, 1/3 cup of mozzarella cheese and a layer of sauce with meat. Repeat the layers and finish with a layer of pasta and a layer of mozzarella cheese.
Bake for 45 minutes and serve.
